LASCAUX CAVES, DORDOGNE FRANCE~ These legendary grottos are home to hundreds of cave paintings from the Paleolithic Age. Only a few years after Lascaux was opened to visitors, the art began to deteriorate; it was closed to the public in 1963, and a replica of the cave opened in the 1980s. You can check see reproductions of all those horses, bison and stag effigies on a tour of Lascaux II, but only very select scientists are allowed to enter the original sites.

AERIAL VIEW~ LOUIS VUITTON FOUNDATION~ A new art museum and cultural center sponsored by the group LVMH Designed by architect Frank Gehry, it is next to the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne in the 16th arrondissement The collection, from art works owned by LVMH and its CEO, Bernard Arnault, will be unveiled in three stages between October 2014 and September 2015. Highlights of the LVMH collection include works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gilbert & George and Jeff Koons.
