Red Wine by Va Piano from Columbia Valley, Washington. The 2012 Columbia Valley Syrah blends our 3 favorite syrah vineyards to develop a beautiful and complex syrah. Inky dark purple and ruby colors coat the glass. Blueberry, chocolate and clove notes come out very strong in the aromatics. Soft & velvety, this fruit forward syrah shows bright acidity with nice nuances of cinnamon, toasted almonds, boysenberry pie and a touch of bacon fat. This wine will benefit from a bit of cellaring. Enjoy this with a slow-cooker braised beef stew or wild mushroom risotto. If you're planning on drinking this soon, decant for at least 6-8 hours. Hold onto this until Spring/Summer of 2015 until late 2022.
