Embroidery digitizing is the process of converting a standard artwork file (like a PNG, JPEG, or vector logo) into a digital file format that an embroidery machine can read. Because embroidery machines cannot understand flat pixels or lines, a digitizer must map out the entire design from scratch. This involves plotting exactly where every single needle penetration happens, defining the stitch types (like satin or fill stitches), choosing the sewing direction, and factoring in how different fabrics pull and stretch under thread tension.
