Essiac tea originated in the early 1920s when a Canadian nurse named Rene Caisse (essiac is Caisse spelled backwards) received the formula from a patient who acquired the recipe from an Ojibwa medicine man. Three of the ingredients Burdock, Sheep Sorrel and Rhubarb were already being grown on our farm. We sourced the Slippery Elm which is the fourth ingredient, designed our simple packaging and were ready to find our niche in the market. Many years later, the demand for Camas Prairie Tea essiac Blend continues to grow, and we are pleased to offer this valuable formula.
